Ray White Dural are proud sponsors of the Children’s Medical Research Institute

By Sandra Ward

The Children’s Medical Research Institute is an independent organisation committed to unlocking the mysteries of childhood disease and conducts research into the fundamental causes of disease. Their goal is to fast-track the eradication of childhood cancers.

1 in 20 kids is born with a birth defect or genetic disease and world-wide over 100,000 children are diagnosed with cancer every year.  CMRI is asking the difficult questions and working hard to find real answers so they can give these children a healthier future.  All donations directly support world-leading researchers and their efforts to find cures for childhood diseases.

The CMRI Hills Committee was established in 1991 when a group of mothers in the Hills District rallied together for some serious fundraising. The President of the Committee Patti Payne was motivated by the loss of her first daughter as a result of a genetic condition.  Their signature event is The Mothers’ Day Luncheon attracting close to 500 people each year and held at the Hilton Hotel, Sydney.  This year’s event was on Friday, 18th May and Sandra Ward of Ray White Dural donated a gorgeous pink retro ladies bike as an auction item.  A total of $60,000 was raised on the day and we are so pleased that we were able to contribute to the success of this event.
